What inspired you to launch Ena Pelly?
Dani's love of fashion, and her childhood dream of creating a clothing brand inspired the launch of Ena Pelly. The inspiration for the name of the brand is very simple, Ena Pelly is Danielle's late grandmother.
What is your most popular product or service, what really makes your customers & clients get excited?
Our most popular products are our Classic Leather Biker Jackets, and our bespoke custom designed prints. Our printed Tee shirt and Sweater category has grown by 1000% in the past 12 months. The response from our customers when dropping a new graphic has been super exciting to witness.
What are your top 5 apps for optimising how you run your business?
Shopify, Instagram, WeChat, Gmail and Indigo 8 (I8 is our inventory management software not an APP, but has streamlined our business immensely)
Instagram or Facebook for marketing campaigns?
Do you have a dream stockist for the brand? Netaporter, Shopbop are two we would love. Last year we would have said Barney's or SAX but now that seems like not a great idea.
What has been your highlight for the brand since launching?
Launching our first stand alone store has been a huge highlight, even if we only had 1 month of trading before covid hit.
What advice do you have for other business owners looking to launch their business?
Be persistent, be open to feedback and back yourself. Your original business idea may morph and change, but if you're persistent and open to feedback you will end up on top.
What has been your biggest learning so far?
Listen to your gut instinct. It's amazing how many people will tell you they know what's best for your own business. In most cases you're the one who knows your business to back to front and knows what it needs.
Apart from grant funding, what other gold nuggets should businesses take advantage of?
Guest speakers are great, podcasts are great to listen too, but funding is the best gold nugget ;)
What exciting things can we look forward to for the brand in the future?
Launching the brand in the USA is something to keep an eye out for. We have just finished designing our biggest and what we think is our best AW21 range yet. Keep an eye out.
